Good evening!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend with friends and family. See important news below!

Bentley Academy Family News

Attendance
Our attendance team has just sent out letters to families whose children have a large number of absences. Remember that the BEST way to ensure your child sees high levels of academic success is to COME TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY, even in kindergarten. The habit of coming to school every day is one of the greatest predictors of school success. If you are having any trouble getting your child to school every day, please reach out to Heather Perry for support.

Healthy Snacks & Meals
Thank you to families for making an effort to refrain from sending unhealthy snacks. Please continue to focus on sending healthy snacks and AVOIDING the things below, which contain unhealthy amounts of sugar, fat, and/or sodium. Every day, we serve healthy (and delicious!) breakfast, snacks, and lunch for ALL students for free.

Please DO NOT send these food items to school:

  • Dunkin Donuts beverages
  • Other sugary beverages — water is best!
  • Large bags of snack foods such as Doritos or Takis

Bentley Parent Recognized
See this video (starting at 12 minutes) to learn how Carmen Tejeda, parent of a student in Ms. Belis’ class, receives an Outstanding Volunteer Award from Salem’s CDC. Congratulations, Ms. Tejeda!

Report Cards & Conferences
Report cards will be sent home and will be visible on Aspen on December 7, 2021. Be sure to sign up for conferences with your children’s teachers, which will take place on December 8, starting at 12:00 pm. Teachers have sent out sign-ups through Parent Square. If you didn’t get the notification, reach out directly to your child’s teacher to sign up for an in-person or remote conference.

PTA Updates
We are thankful for our new PTA Leadership and appreciate our school community’s patience while the PTA has gotten up and running. The PTA is still looking for someone interested in being the Vice President!
